Garlic is used in every one’s kitchen. Who does not cook with garlic? I would imagine there are very few women who do not, if there are any? However, how many people use garlic as a healing herb? Garlic is a natural herb and is also considered a nourishing herb. It can be used freely, meaning it can be used in cooking and also as a supplement without worry of taking in too much of the herb. In herbal medicine in years past, garlic has been widely used to treat a number of problems. It was widely used during World War I to treat battle wounds and to combat infection in the wounds. Garlic today can be used in herbal medicine to combat problems with the circulatory system including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and to prevent heart disease. It is also used to improve the immune system in order to keep from succumbing to upper respiratory illness such as colds.

Garlic is a great supplement and a wonderful natural herb that heals. It can be used on a daily basis and is highly recommended in order to prevent circulatory problems in the future or to boost the immune system. If you feel that you are at risk of these things, it would be wise to consider giving garlic a try. As with all things that are in alternative medicine, if you have any type of chronic illness and are being treated or on medications, check with your physician before trying or adding herbs to your regimen.
